I decided to take on the popular swapping screen time for reading challenge to combat dopamine addiction, reset my entertainment habits and improve my mental health. This was the perfect challenge to help me recover from a couple stressful summer months that spiraled into phone addiction, a marked reduction in my attention span and sleepless nights. Most creators who did this challenge read their screen time from the week before, I decided to read my screen time from the DAY before in order to create a more direct feedback loop for breaking my phone addiction and building better habits. Because I can't ever do something simply I also added the component of intentionally moving for the same number of minutes each day as the number of pickups from the day before as exercise is also a big factor in my mental wellness.
