Dancing with Trees

I've been thinking a lot about the way trees dance as they grow over time, branches twisting and reaching toward the light. This flow poem is a creative devotion towards this relationship between dance, time and being on earth! 🌲

If I could choose a form
To come to life again
My spirit reborn
As another type of friend

I would like to be a tree
Branches dancing with the years
Needles trembling with the wind
Shedding leaves in place of tears

I would put my roots down deep
And limbs forever high
I would never go to sleep
Or stop speaking with the sky

But then is not now
And still only a wish
We can still dance through time
And know not what we miss
